Why We Wrote

Mindful Loving: A Guide to Loving with Passion and Purpose

By Diana Baysinger

Mindful Loving: A Guide to Loving with Passion and Purpose is the result of our thirty-year friendship and professional collaboration. Through the years, we challenged and supported each other in our own personal and professional lives. As therapists, we shared office space and a passion for bringing inspiration and information to our clients. We developed workshops and seminars to teach people new ways to enhance their lives and relationships.

Mindful Loving: A Guide to Loving with Passion and Purpose is a gift to you inspired by our work with thousands of couples. Through our work in marriage and family therapy, sex therapy and relationship coaching, we have learned how important it is to navigate through the challenges, celebrations and cycles of loving. It has been our privilege to partner with clients who have dealt with personal and relationship challenges like unresolved and ongoing arguments, feeling unloved and disconnected, changes in the family, the loss of a loved one, betrayal and trust issues, a decline in sexual intimacy and health problems. Through our work with them, we learned valuable lessons about people’s strength and resilience.

As we entered a new milestone in our work, we wanted to reach a broader audience and provide a resource for people to use to enrich their own lives and relationships. It was the next best step to share our wisdom and expertise by writing our book. Over the years we collected an abundance of life lessons, skills and information that contributed to the content of Mindful Loving: A Guide to Loving with Passion and Purpose.  These lessons, skills and information have come from both our work with clients and from our own personal desire to live a life that is mindful and fulfilling.

Mindful Loving: A Guide to Loving with Passion and Purpose teaches and empowers people to create and sustain mindful loving relationships. We all have a desire for connection, acceptance, and love. Mindful loving is a choice people make to fulfill this desire. It takes daily commitment to practice living and loving more fully. When we live and love more fully, we live with greater passion and purpose and mindful loving becomes one of life’s greatest sources of joy and fulfillment.
